Book People Scholarship 2017 Essay ContestShirley Ann Sullivan Educational Foundation with Youth Are Partners for Empowerment International is offering four Freshman Scholarships to High School Seniors attending the Annual Education for Employment Conference and its Workshops being held February 3 – 5, 2017.
Essay Question; In 800 words or less:
Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma-anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
Scholarships are to attend The University of Liberia’s:
William R. Tolbert, Jr. College of Agriculture & Forestry: The College has areas of specialization in General Agriculture, Agronomy, General Forestry and Wood Science.
Thomas J.R. Faulkner College of Science & Technology: The College has two divisions including Division of Natural Science (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, & Zoology), and Division of Technology (Electrical, Civil, Mining Engineering).
CriteriaYou must be: A high school graduate or attending your second semester of high school.Entering The University of Liberia as a first time student/Freshman, this means you can not have attended The University of Liberia before.
How to apply: Entries are only accepted via email. Submit your essay of 800 words or less as an attachment word document or pdf to firstname.lastname@example.org. Entry deadline is Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). In the body of the email tell us your Name and Age, Grade, Field of Study and in the interest of gender equality your sex.
Winners will be announced at the Education for Empowerment closing ceremony February 5, 2017
